Always wanted to visit this one. As it's expected it feels magical somehow. I like it very much. The guide explanation is superb, you pay as you wish but please pay them enough. They take photos too! Knew the great spot. It's clean and well taken care of as expected.

A must visit place in Jogja!

I will say this place amazing, because u can feel the historical, and you can also asks for a tour guide, they will tell you the history, why the building is like this and that and others. Pictures? Will be great if you took some when u are visiting. Helping strangers took pictures of them, they will be thankful for that, but dont force.

I came here on holiday with my husband. Tickets cost 5,000. It's a historical relic. We are very happy to visit here. The guide is very well and friendly. He can explain the details about this place. Come love Indonesian heritage!!

It is a bit of a labyrinth to get through all the features of interest, since you are passing through residential areas in some parts, so I'm glad we got a guide (who really tried his best to explain things in English). The guide was happy to let us stop and take photos and didn't try to rush us through. There was one section closed off, but still worth visiting for the history.

Visiting the location for first time, and it leaves bad impression for me. True the entrance fee is only 5k. But once inside you are left with your own to figure out where to go. There's actually several region to cover but you need to get there with almost zero navigation guidance. No maps, no direction signs. Of course all this goes down to whether you are comfortable as there are dozens of local guides inside. And what i get those tour guides somehow keep telling to let them guide you rather than being lost in the way, or suddenly shout at you that you cannot go back one you pass certain gates and need to reenter from the beginning.
Dude I think its a bully for a tourist site to somehow make fun of the visitor because they clearly don't know there exist such rule.
I don't mind paying more for the entrance had there been a proper guidance and navigation on site as not everyone comfortable walking with a tour guide, and some just want to get lost by purpose as part of traveling rather than going.
For what its worth, I think its actually an interesting sites to explore, just not with the hostile hospitality.

Great heritage history place.
You can see how old and different of old architecture with current time.
Wall thickness is crazily thick.
Minus point
- no clear sign so the guide is insisting to guide you around. Baddd
- maintenance not really good. They should do better maintenance.

A cultural place full of wonderful spot to learn about history of Yogyakarta. The local tour guide is very helpful and skillful in taking photos of the tourists. Overall it was a pleasant visit.
