I checked in early and the receptionist was very kind allowing me to checked in on 12pm. The facility is pretty standard, the room was clean, bathroom is also clean. The only downside is the room was a bit dark with minimal lighting. Also the fridge was a bit smell due to unused for long time I guess. But everything is working fine.

The location is good, since it's beside Galeria mall. You don't need to worry if you need something.

This hotel delivers excellent service with a smile. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and each have a balcony. A huge swimming pool and fitness center are available. The restaurant offers amazing food,???? well prepared and presented. The warmth and friendly smiles makes one feel at home. The staff is well trained and efficient, no request is to much or too little. ????I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. ????????

Classic hôtel, all you would expect for an hotel of this category, not bad and not good either. Room are ok although the shower would need some renovation, and the noise from the city isn't filtered by the thin windows. Breakfast with a lot of choice, but quality isn't at the expected level. Ordering a taxi is a rip-off.

Five star hotel in yogyakarta, with a very comfortable room. We stayed in deluxe room, and the room is quite large! Just love the ambiance, the interior and the food! Their breakfast is superb!

one of best Hotel in Jogjakarta, next to Mall Ambarrukmo, nice and good smell in lobby. room was ok, but breakfast is amazing....love breakfast tims, many local food with good quality and taste

Access to his hotel is easy, it's spacious and cosy all the time, complete close to the plaza. His ministry was also fine and friendly. The food provided was also delicious.

An exceptional hotel that thoroughly deserves every award it receives

Spending a blissful 11 nights here as a family of 4. That Hotel Royal Ambarrukmo stays true to its 5* billing goes without saying- it's elegant, luxurious, the hotel and the adjacent buildings have a great backstory that add to their charm- but what really sets Royal Ambarrukmo apart is the high level of service and attention to detail from its hardworking, dedicated staff and guest relations (Heru, Guest Relations Manager, warrants a special mention here). Despite our stay coinciding with a high profile event attended by senior military figures, the staff went to great lengths to ensure we felt special- within a day of arrival everyone from reception to restaurant staff knew the kids by their names, our breakfast choices were noted and served subsequently without being requested, they were willing to reallocate staff to accommodate even our smallest request, every staff we met greeted us with a smile, followed by ' is there anything else I can do to assist you'? The fact they approach a 'regular' guest with such care and attention suggests this is part of the hotel's corporate culture and ethos and is a huge credit to the management and staff here.

The facilities at the hotel have been discussed to death in other reviews so don't bear repeating- I'd only add that the staff work tirelessly to keep the place spotless. The added attraction is that Indonesians do not appear to be big fans of the swimming pool after 10 am so you are more or less guaranteed exclusive use of it between 10-6 pm. The same goes for the well equipped fitness centre and sauna, both of which I've had to myself every time I've used it, regardless of the hour and occupancy of the hotel. Breakfast is sumptuous and varied, with plenty of live food counters serving local and continental cuisine and tends to remain open beyond the official hours of 6:30-10 am. The Kids Club is staffed based on demand but my kids have used it lot and absolutely adore Michelle, one of the staff members. It also contains a lot of very expensive kit such as PS 5s, VR headsets, several desktops etc that are guaranteed to appeal to kids of all ages.

The city centre location may not be to everyone's liking but from our perspective, proximity to Ambarrukmo Plaza with it's excellent selection of shops and restaurants is a huge advantage. As for room layout, city facing rooms overlook a busy road and can be noisier than garden facing ones so light sleepers may want to request the latter.

My family spent last Xmas in one of the most exclusive hotels in Jumeirah, Dubai and, based purely on service, rate this place higher than the former. Though it's an excruciating flight halfway across the world, Royal Ambarrukmo has been so good we are almost tempted to return to Yogya for a holiday just so we can stay here again!
