Awesome place, we stayed there for 4 days, and of all the hotels we've been to in three weeks, it was the hotel I preferred! The staff is super friendly and always there to help if you need it. The only grip I have with it is that the bathroom water heater looked like it came out of the 50s, and didn't always work as expected. I'd give 5 stars if they renovated the bathrooms a bit, but nonetheless, if you need to stay in Yogyakarta, Poeri Devata is the hotel you should choose!

Is this the one and only the best hotel in the area? There isn't seems to be any other hotel quite as nice around. I'm excited about the resort's concept but I really hope they make the hotel looks not so.. outdated. It's like staying at The Overlook hotel but everything comes from 80's Indonesia and still eerily creepy when the night comes.
Once again please update your basic necessities such as the tablecloth shown in the picture.
I really love the open-back bathroom but that green Toto bathtub must've seen some unspeakable things.

The good...
The staff were very nice and helpful, and the food was really good (we're vegetarian, and it's pretty hard to get a lot of good vegetarian food in the country). The place looks great; rustic and beautiful. The bathroom is not fully enclosed- it's partly open to the outside. Not everyone would be comfortable with this tho :P
..and the bad...
Unfortunately, the place seems to be quite old. The AC was so bad you wouldn't notice if it was on; the fan's regulator was faulty. Only 1 plug point in the room, put in an uncomfortable place. We'd paid for an extra bed. It was HORRIBLE. Some old, creaky, and bloody TINY cot that sunk in the middle by like 10cm (and I'm a skinny guy of avg height even by Indian standards :P).

We traveled from Borobudur to Prambanan via the back roads which was a great trip for the scenery and a respite from the Yogyakarta traffic. The cottage was neat and clean. The service provided by the staff was as good as that provided by Grah*** Hotel, Borobodur. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the peramban temple. Real value for money.

The grounds were always kept tidy and the bed sheets were changed daily. They have a marker in the room that designates the direction of Mecca. The breakfast leaves a lot to be left desired, but they do have a pool. There are only two staff members who speak English well and there were problems with paying for a third party tour and rooms. We were told paying by credit card was no problem but on the day before check out we were asked to pay cash. We were running low on cash at that point, and had to scramble to scrape together enough cash. It was a very disappointing end to the trip. We were also told told the prices of a tour at the hotel, but when we arrived to do the tour we were told an entirely different price.

Tranquil location with excellent customer service in very reasonable price!!

As I said this place has an excellent customer service, really appreciate by me a clumsy traveler. The place offers tasty breakfast, great location, quiet and clean room. Surrounded by greenery, rice field and Prambanan temple. It’s only 5mins walking from Ramayana theatre, and 3mins ojek ride to Prambanan entrance.

The staff members are superb, from the reception to the cleaner. I asked their help to purchase Ramayana tickets at the last minute, and they replied with the tickets’ confirmation within an hour! In addition, they even asked whether I need pick up after the show or not. That is an excellent customer service!
I woke up this morning to cheerful chirping sounds from little birds on the trees around my room. Then I had a yummy mi goreng and fresh fruit juice for brekky, freshly prepared and yumm! My day continued with reading my book in peaceful open bathtub. What a serenity!
Thank you Poeri Devata team, I had a peaceful relaxing break before I return to hectic life ahead.

TV still use small old CRT, hot water not reliably warm enough, but the view on bathtub is pretty good

Also if You little adventurous like me this place is kinda mystical, but if you easily scared better don't try it
