Impressive monument where you can take a lift to the top. Lovely little park around it if you want to get some rest. Expect long queues unless it is weekday morning. Today there was only one lift working but it was enough. You can also hop on the little road train which will take you straight to the monument entrance for free.

Great place to visit and also provides an insight on the independence of Indonesia
Apart from that, great view. I would recommend hiring a guide who will guide you through everything. I had a very good one who showed me around everywhere for within 50$.

Must-see location in Jakarta. Just make sure to go early as they close at 4 pm. There's no entrance fee for the surrounding park, and there's a museum under the monument itself. Views are beautiful.

National Monument or Monas is a monument built with the aim of remembering the history of the struggle in Jakarta. Monas is located in the center of Jakarta, which is currently used as a tourist attraction and education center for visitors from Indonesia as well as foreign tourists. If you want to visit here, it would be better if you check the schedule in advance because in a week there is 1 day off

I have been in Jakarta for many years, but this is the first time I actually got the chance to visit Monas.
Well, i've been wanted to visit since 2020 but then Covid attacked us all, so you know the rest of the story.
We started by crossing the pedestrian bridge in front of Patung Kuda, It is not easy to find an entrance as you can ask for the security or just follow other people that want to visit as well.
You can either take a queue to use the free public bus that can take you inside where you can buy the ticket, but we prefer to walk as the scenery is quite nice and beautiful.
There's a market besides the walking entrance where people are selling clothes and street foods and so on.
The ticket price is about IDR 35K (this came with JakCard Bank DKI with its balance) the ticket price is actually only about IDR 15K.
You will have to go downstairs to go to the place where you can buy the ticket, and soon after you enter the site, there's a museum downstairs about how Indonesia was "started" including the Kingdoms, the VOC, and even until the independence period, a lot of learnings.
Then if you go upstairs there's a here's a huge Garuda statue on the wall. Unfortunatelly we didn't have a chance to visit the top of Monas at the time due to the ticket was sold out, so better visit this place on the weekdays (instead of weekend as its full packed with people and children).
Nevertheless it was a really good visit and a lot of learning.

4/5 ????. The place that tells you the history of Indonesia. The museum is just below underground the national monument which can be enter by purchasing a ticket for museum will be 5000rp and to visit the sky view of national monument is 10000rp. Recommend to do early booking if you intent to go up of the national monument to enjoy the sky view as ticket are limited. However it is not tourist friendly as it will be requiring tourist to purchase a JakLingko card to enter the museum that cost additional 15,000rp.
