I have been in Jakarta for many years, but this is the first time I actually got the chance to visit Monas.
Well, i've been wanted to visit since 2020 but then Covid attacked us all, so you know the rest of the story.
We started by crossing the pedestrian bridge in front of Patung Kuda, It is not easy to find an entrance as you can ask for the security or just follow other people that want to visit as well.
You can either take a queue to use the free public bus that can take you inside where you can buy the ticket, but we prefer to walk as the scenery is quite nice and beautiful.
There's a market besides the walking entrance where people are selling clothes and street foods and so on.
The ticket price is about IDR 35K (this came with JakCard Bank DKI with its balance) the ticket price is actually only about IDR 15K.
You will have to go downstairs to go to the place where you can buy the ticket, and soon after you enter the site, there's a museum downstairs about how Indonesia was "started" including the Kingdoms, the VOC, and even until the independence period, a lot of learnings.
Then if you go upstairs there's a here's a huge Garuda statue on the wall. Unfortunatelly we didn't have a chance to visit the top of Monas at the time due to the ticket was sold out, so better visit this place on the weekdays (instead of weekend as its full packed with people and children).
Nevertheless it was a really good visit and a lot of learning.
